McKenzie Rebels (McKenzie, TN) backers were pleased Friday as they saw their basketball squad knock off the visiting McEwen Warriors (McEwen, TN), 61-53 in a league bout.

With the victory, McKenzie upgrades its record to 6-5 on the campaign. The Rebels travel to Huntingdon (Huntingdon, TN) to play the Mustangs in a non-league bout on Tuesday, January 30. The Mustangs come into the bout with a record of 6-15. Huntingdon won 63-51 in their recent league bout against Waverly Central (Waverly, TN)

Next up, the Warriors play the Houston County Fighting Irish (Erin, TN) in a 1A District 12 bout, on Tuesday, January 30. McEwen will attempt to upgrade on its 13-4 season record. The Fighting Irish come into the bout with a 13-4 record after their 62-35 league win over Big Sandy (Big Sandy, TN).
