McFarland Cougars (McFarland, CA) backers were in high spirits Friday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the visiting Shafter Generals (Shafter, CA), 65-47 in a league bout.

With the win, McFarland upgrades its record to 20-6 on the season. The Cougars travel to Taft (Taft, CA) to play the Wildcats in a South Sequoia bout on Tuesday, January 30. The Wildcats go into the bout with a record of 15-9. Taft won 53-29 in their recent league bout against Shafter (Shafter, CA)

Next up, the Generals play the Delano Tigers (Delano, CA) in a South Sequoia bout, on Tuesday, January 30. Shafter will attempt to upgrade on its 9-13 season record. The Tigers go into the bout with a 17-8 record after their 55-53 league win over Chavez (Delano, CA).
