North Smithfield Northmen (North Smithfield, RI) backers were in high spirits Friday as they witnessed their basketball squad bounce the host St. Patrick Academy Padres (Providence, RI), 54-22 in a league bout.

With the win, North Smithfield upgrades its record to 14-1 on the season. The Northmen host Central Falls (Central Falls, RI) to play the Warriors in a Division 3 bout on Tuesday, January 30. The Warriors go into the bout with a record of 10-5. Central Falls won 50-43 in their recent league bout against Ponaganset (North Scituate, RI)

Next up, the Padres play the Mount St. Charles Academy Mounties (Woonsocket, RI) in a Division 3 bout, on Tuesday, January 30. St. Patrick Academy will attempt to upgrade on its 2-13 season record. The Mounties enter the game with a 6-6 record after their 59-49 league win over Prout (Wakefield, RI).
