West Bolivar Eagles (Rosedale, MS) backers were pleased Friday as they saw their basketball squad knock off the visiting Shaw Warriors (Shaw, MS), 48-40 in a league bout.

With the victory, West Bolivar upgrades its record to 10-11 on the campaign. The Eagles travel to Simmons (Hollandale, MS) to play the Blue Devils in a 1A Region 5 bout on Saturday, January 27. The Blue Devils come into the bout with a record of 6-11. Simmons lost 65-56 in their recent league bout against South Delta (Rolling Fork, MS)

Next up, the Warriors play the South Delta Bulldogs (Rolling Fork, MS) in a 1A Region 5 bout, on Tuesday, January 30. Shaw will attempt to upgrade on its 4-17 season record. The Bulldogs come into the bout with a 14-5 record after their 65-56 league win over Simmons (Hollandale, MS).
