Franklin Cougars (El Paso, TX) backers were in high spirits Friday as they witnessed their basketball squad tip the visiting Eastlake Falcons (El Paso, TX), 45-42 in a league bout.

With the win, Franklin upgrades its record to 6-1 on the season. The Cougars host Eastwood (El Paso, TX) to clash with the Troopers in a non-league bout on Saturday, February 3. The Troopers go into the bout with a record of 5-4.

Next up, the Falcons clash with the Pebble Hills Spartans (El Paso, TX) in a bout, on Friday, February 2. Eastlake will attempt to upgrade on its 15-4 season record. The Spartans go into the bout with a 3-1 record after their 51-39 league win over El Dorado (El Paso, TX).
