The Alburnett Pirates basketball team scored 57 points and restricted the visiting Central City Wildcats to 40 in the Pirates league victory on Friday.

The Pirates now sport a 7-10 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Edgewood-Colesburg for a Tri-Rivers - West contest on Monday, January 29. Alburnett will battle a Vikings team coming off a 47-45 league win over Maquoketa Valley (Delhi, IA). The Vikings record now stands at 14-4.

The Wildcats (5-12) will now prepare for their contest against Dunkerton (Dunkerton, IA). The Raiders come into the non-league contest with a 13-4 record. In their last contest, Dunkerton prevailed over Sumner-Fredericksburg (Sumner, IA), 67-63, in a non-league contest.
