With the victory, Loyd Star improves its record to 9-9 on the campaign. The Hornets host Wilkinson County (Woodville, MS) to play the Wildcats in a 2A Region 7 challenge on Tuesday, January 30. The Wildcats come into the challenge with a record of 1-17. Wilkinson County lost 54-18 in their recent league challenge against West Lincoln (Brookhaven, MS)

Next up, the Trojans play the Bogue Chitto Bobcats (Bogue Chitto, MS) in a 2A Region 7 challenge, on Tuesday, January 30. Amite County will attempt to improve on its 1-17 season record. The Bobcats come into the challenge with a 23-0 record after their 44-38 league win over West Lincoln (Brookhaven, MS).
