Sumner Cowboys (Kentwood, LA) backers were pleased Friday as they saw their basketball squad knock off the visiting Bogalusa Lumberjacks (Bogalusa, LA), 34-21 in a league bout.

With the victory, Sumner upgrades its record to 6-19 on the campaign. The Cowboys travel to GEO Next Generation (Baton Rouge, LA) to play the Tigers in a non-league bout on Monday, January 29. The Tigers come into the bout with a record of 17-8. GEO Next Generation won 53-47 in their recent non-league bout against South Plaquemines (Buras, LA)

Next up, the Lumberjacks play the Pine Raiders (Franklinton, LA) in a 3A District 7 bout, on Tuesday, January 30. Bogalusa will attempt to upgrade on its 1-12 season record. The Raiders come into the bout with a 13-11 record after their 64-40 league loss to Amite (Amite, LA).
