Gothenburg Swedes (Gothenburg, NE) backers were pleased Friday as they saw their basketball squad hold off the visiting Broken Bow Indians (Broken Bow, NE), 51-45 in a non-league bout.

With the victory, Gothenburg upgrades its record to 13-3 on the campaign. The Swedes travel to Minden (Minden, NE) to play the Whippets in a non-league bout on Saturday, January 27. The Whippets come into the bout with a record of 13-2. Minden won 66-36 in their recent non-league bout against Ainsworth (Ainsworth, NE)

Next up, the Indians play the Lexington Minutemen (Lexington, NE) in a non-league bout, on Tuesday, January 30. Broken Bow will attempt to upgrade on its 13-3 season record. The Minutemen come into the bout with a 1-14 record after their 40-12 non-league loss to Lakeview (Columbus, NE).
