Virginia High School Basketball - Council topples Hurley

In Friday's league outing, the Council Cobras (Council, VA) basketball squad beat the visiting Hurley Rebels (Hurley, VA), by a count of 48-36.
The Cobras (8-5) will now prepare for their outing against East Ridge (Lick Creek, KY). The Warriors go into the non-league outing with a 7-10 record. In their last outing, East Ridge defeated Magoffin County (Salyersville, KY), 49-48, in a non-league outing.
The Rebels now hold a 4-12 record. They play next when they travel to Tolsia for a non-league outing on Saturday, January 27. Hurley will clash with a Rebels squad coming off a 62-30 non-league loss to Mingo Central (Matewan, WV). The Rebels record now stands at 3-8.
