New Mexico High School Basketball - Newcomb edges Crownpoint

January 26, 2024: Newcomb, NM 87455

In Friday's league outing, the Newcomb Skyhawks (Newcomb, NM) basketball squad nipped the visiting Crownpoint Eagles (Crownpoint, NM), by a margin of 35-31.

The Skyhawks (9-9) will now prepare for their outing against Zuni (Zuni, NM). The Thunderbirds go into the 3A District 1 outing with a 11-7 record. In their last outing, Zuni got by Thoreau (Thoreau, NM), 61-44, in a league outing.

The Eagles now own a 6-9 record. They play next when they travel to Navajo Prep for a 3A District 1 outing on Wednesday, January 31. Crownpoint will encounter a Eagles squad coming off a 74-26 league win over Wingate (Fort Wingate, NM). The Eagles record now stands at 10-8.
