The Floydada Whirlwinds basketball team scored 77 points and held the host Lockney Longhorns to 12 in the Whirlwinds league triumph on Friday.

The Whirlwinds now sport a 22-3 record. They put it on the line next when they host Smyer for a 2A Region I District 4 contest on Tuesday, January 30. Floydada will battle a Bobcats team coming off a 53-41 league loss to Hale Center (Hale Center, TX). The Bobcats record now stands at 12-13.

The Longhorns (1-22) will now prepare for their contest against Ralls (Ralls, TX). The Jackrabbits enter the 2A Region I District 4 contest with a 4-20 record. In their last contest, Ralls triumphed over New Deal (New Deal, TX), 32-27, in a league contest.
