The Murphy Bulldogs basketball team (Murphy, NC), was nudged 51-47 in Friday's league battle with the host Hayesville Yellowjackets (Hayesville, NC)
The Yellowjackets now sport a 15-4 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Swain County for a 1A Smoky Mountain battle on Tuesday, January 30. Hayesville will battle a Maroon Devils team coming off a 53-25 league win over Andrews (Andrews, NC). The Maroon Devils record now stands at 8-10.
The Bulldogs (2-12) will now prepare for their battle against Robbinsville (Robbinsville, NC). The Black Knights come into the 1A Smoky Mountain battle with a 11-4 record. In their last battle, Robbinsville was nudged by Cherokee (Cherokee, NC), 79-27, in a league battle.
