Henderson Lions (Henderson, TX) backers were in high spirits Friday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the visiting Kilgore Bulldogs (Kilgore, TX), 40-31 in a league bout.

With the win, Henderson upgrades its record to 18-8 on the season. The Lions travel to Carthage (Carthage, TX) to play the Bulldogs in a 4A Region III District 17 bout on Tuesday, January 30. The Bulldogs go into the bout with a record of 11-15. Carthage lost 44-21 in their recent league bout against Gilmer (Gilmer, TX)

Next up, the Bulldogs play the Carthage Bulldogs (Carthage, TX) in a 4A Region III District 17 bout, on Friday, February 2. Kilgore will attempt to upgrade on its 3-16 season record.
