Jenkins County War Eagles (Millen, GA) backers were in high spirits Friday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the host McIntosh County Academy Buccaneers (Darien, GA), 50-34 in a league bout.

With the win, Jenkins County upgrades its record to 8-9 on the season. The War Eagles travel to Treutlen (Soperton, GA) to play the Vikings in a non-league bout on Saturday, January 27. The Vikings go into the bout with a record of 12-7. Treutlen won 58-44 in their recent league bout against Telfair County (McRae, GA)

Next up, the Buccaneers play the Montgomery County Eagles (Mt. Vernon, GA) in a A D2 Region 3 bout, on Saturday, January 27. McIntosh County Academy will attempt to upgrade on its 1-13 season record. The Eagles go into the bout with a 18-0 record after their 60-46 league win over Portal (Portal, GA).
