Linn-Mar Lions (Marion, IA) backers were in high spirits Friday as they witnessed their basketball squad tip the visiting Waterloo West Wahawks (Waterloo, IA), 63-61 in a league bout.

With the win, Linn-Mar upgrades its record to 7-10 on the season. The Lions host Kennedy (Cedar Rapids, IA) to play the Cougars in a Mississippi Valley bout on Saturday, January 27. The Cougars go into the bout with a record of 7-9. Kennedy lost 61-53 in their recent league bout against Washington (Cedar Rapids, IA)

Next up, the Wahawks play the Waterloo Christian Regents (Waterloo, IA) in a non-league bout, on Saturday, January 27. Waterloo West will attempt to upgrade on its 6-8 season record. The Regents go into the bout with a 13-4 record after their 58-26 league win over Tripoli (Tripoli, IA).
