California High School Basketball - McClatchy trounces Monterey Trail

January 26, 2024: Sacramento, CA 95818

The McClatchy Lions (Sacramento, CA) basketball crushed the visiting Monterey Trail Mustangs (Elk Grove, CA), 68-46 in Friday's league test.

The Lions (16-5) will now prepare for their test against Priory (Portola Valley, CA). The Panthers go into the non-league test with a 9-8 record. In their last test, Priory was trounced by Pinewood (Los Altos Hills, CA), 72-42, in a league test.

The Mustangs now own a 12-9 record. They play next when they host Kennedy for a Metropolitan Conference test on Tuesday, January 30. Monterey Trail will encounter a Cougars squad coming off a 76-11 league win over Burbank (Sacramento, CA). The Cougars record now stands at 15-6.
