North Smithfield Northmen (North Smithfield, RI) backers were pleased Friday as they saw their basketball squad bounce the visiting Middletown Islanders (Middletown, RI), 57-24 in a league bout.

With the victory, North Smithfield upgrades its record to 7-6 on the campaign. The Northmen travel to Narragansett (Narragansett, RI) to play the Mariners in a Division 3 bout on Monday, January 29. The Mariners come into the bout with a record of 11-1. Narragansett won 35-33 in their recent league bout against North Providence (North Providence, RI)

Next up, the Islanders play the Pilgrim Patriots (Warwick, RI) in a Division 3 bout, on Monday, January 29. Middletown will attempt to upgrade on its 1-14 season record. The Patriots come into the bout with a 3-10 record after their 47-43 league loss to Central Falls (Central Falls, RI).
