Fans at Friday's league challenge between the Model Blue Devils (Rome, GA) and the visiting North Murray Mountaineers (Chatsworth, GA), saw Model's basketball squad overcome North Murray by a tally of 45-37.

With the victory, Model improves its record to 18-4 on the campaign. The Blue Devils travel to Unity Christian (Rome, GA) to confront the Lions in a non-league challenge on Monday, January 29. The Lions come into the challenge with a record of 9-6.

Next up, the Mountaineers confront the Gordon Central Warriors (Calhoun, GA) in a AA Region 7 challenge, on Tuesday, January 30. North Murray will attempt to improve on its 11-8 season record. The Warriors come into the challenge with a 6-16 record after their 78-34 league loss to Fannin County (Blue Ridge, GA).
