Fans at Friday's league challenge between the Ruston Bearcats (Ruston, LA) and the host Ouachita Parish Lions (Monroe, LA), saw Ruston's basketball squad wallop Ouachita Parish by a tally of 62-36.

With the victory, Ruston improves its record to 18-8 on the campaign. The Bearcats host Alexandria (Alexandria, LA) to battle the Trojans in a 5A District 2 contest on Friday, February 2. The Trojans come into the contest with a record of 15-12.

The Lions (15-11) will now prepare for their contest against West Monroe (West Monroe, LA). The Rebels come into the 5A District 2 contest with a 13-10 record. In their last contest, West Monroe triumphed over West Ouachita (West Monroe, LA), 37-24, in a league contest.
