Somerset Bulldogs (Somerset, TX) backers were pleased Friday as they saw their basketball squad hold off the visiting Pleasanton Eagles (Pleasanton, TX), 35-32 in a league bout.

With the victory, Somerset upgrades its record to 9-23 on the campaign. The Bulldogs travel to Devine (Devine, TX) to play the Warhorses in a 4A Region IV District 29 bout on Tuesday, January 30. The Warhorses come into the bout with a record of 25-8. Devine won 54-21 in their recent league bout against Pleasanton (Pleasanton, TX)

Next up, the Eagles play the Pearsall Mavericks (Pearsall, TX) in a 4A Region IV District 29 bout, on Tuesday, January 30. Pleasanton will attempt to upgrade on its 15-17 season record. The Mavericks come into the bout with a 7-19 record after their 58-40 league loss to Carrizo Springs (Carrizo Springs, TX).
