In Friday's league outing, the Alexander Central Cougars (Taylorsville, NC) basketball squad beat the host Freedom Patriots (Morganton, NC), by a margin of 38-27.
The Cougars (14-0) will now prepare for their outing against Ashe County (West Jefferson, NC). The Huskies go into the outing with a 6-7 record. In their last outing, Ashe County was beaten by Watauga (Boone, NC), 46-26, in a non-league outing.
The Patriots now own a 5-7 record. They play next when they travel to Hibriten for a non-league outing on Friday, February 2.
