In Friday's non-league outing, the Watauga Pioneers (Boone, NC) basketball squad beat the visiting Ashe County Huskies (West Jefferson, NC), by a count of 46-26.
The Pioneers (12-1) will now prepare for their outing against Hibriten (Lenoir, NC). The Panthers go into the non-league outing with a 7-2 record.
The Huskies now hold a 6-7 record. They play next when they travel to Alexander Central for a outing on Friday, February 2. Ashe County will clash with a Cougars squad coming off a 38-27 league win over Freedom (Morganton, NC). The Cougars record now stands at 14-0.
