North Carolina High School Basketball - Draughn knocked off by Avery County

The Avery County Vikings basketball team scored 49 points and held the visiting Draughn Wildcats to 30 in the Vikings league triumph on Friday.

The Vikings now sport a 10-1 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Mountain Heritage for a non-league contest on Friday, February 2. Avery County will meet a Cougars team coming off a 45-11 league win over Rosman (Rosman, NC). The Cougars record now stands at 7-5.

With the defeat, Draughn moves to 7-5 on the year. The Wildcats host Madison (Marshall, NC) to face the Patriots in a non-league game on Friday, February 2. The Patriots enter the game with a record of 0-7. Madison lost 57-2 in their recent league game against Mountain Heritage (Burnsville, NC)
