The Croatan Cougars basketball team (Newport, NC), was nudged 27-20 in Friday's non-league battle with the visiting Swansboro Pirates (Swansboro, NC)
The Pirates now possess a 2-6 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Dixon for a non-league battle on Thursday, February 1. Swansboro will confront a Bulldogs team coming off a 21-16 non-league win over West Carteret (Morehead City, NC). The Bulldogs record now stands at 8-2.
The Cougars (3-4) will now prepare for their battle against Richlands (Richlands, NC). The Wildcats come into the non-league battle with a 1-10 record. In their last battle, Richlands was nudged by West Carteret (Morehead City, NC), 56-10, in a non-league battle.
