In Friday's non-league challenge, the Monarch Coyotes (Louisville, CO) ice hockey team bounced the host Castle View Sabercats (Castle Rock, CO), by a margin of 6-1.
The Coyotes now possess a 7-3 record. They play next when they host Regis Jesuit for a 5A Metro challenge on Saturday, January 27. Monarch will play a Raiders team coming off a 5-1 league win over Denver East (Denver, CO). The Raiders record now stands at 9-2.
The Sabercats (6-7) will now prepare for their challenge against Chatfield (Littleton, CO). The Chargers come into the 5A South challenge with a 4-6 record. In their last challenge, Chatfield was ripped by Heritage (Littleton, CO), 5-1, in a league challenge.
