Fans at Friday's league challenge between the Freedom Patriots (Morganton, NC) and the visiting Alexander Central Cougars (Taylorsville, NC), saw Freedom's basketball squad overcome Alexander Central by a tally of 54-44.

With the victory, Freedom improves its record to 13-1 on the campaign. The Patriots travel to Hibriten (Lenoir, NC) to play the Panthers in a non-league challenge on Friday, February 2. The Panthers come into the challenge with a record of 0-6.

Next up, the Cougars play the Ashe County Huskies (West Jefferson, NC) in a challenge, on Friday, February 2. Alexander Central will attempt to improve on its 7-9 season record. The Huskies come into the challenge with a 5-8 record after their 78-45 league loss to Watauga (Boone, NC).
