Fans at Friday's non-league challenge between the Galax Maroon Tide (Galax, VA) and the visiting Bland County Bears (Rocky Gap, VA), saw Galax's basketball squad overcome Bland County by a tally of 54-37.

With the victory, Galax improves its record to 7-4 on the campaign. The Maroon Tide host Fort Chiswell (Max Meadows, VA) to confront the Pioneers in a non-league challenge on Tuesday, January 30. The Pioneers come into the challenge with a record of 13-3. Fort Chiswell lost 42-35 in their recent non-league challenge against George Wythe (Wytheville, VA)

Next up, the Bears confront the Auburn Eagles (Riner, VA) in a non-league challenge, on Monday, January 29. Bland County will attempt to improve on its 1-8 season record.
