Shelby Golden Lions (Shelby, NC) backers were in high spirits Friday as they witnessed their basketball squad tip the visiting Burns Bulldogs (Lawndale, NC), 44-37 in a non-league bout.

With the win, Shelby upgrades its record to 6-2 on the season. The Golden Lions travel to Cherryville (Cherryville, NC) to clash with the Ironmen in a non-league bout on Tuesday, January 30. The Ironmen go into the bout with a record of 7-7. Cherryville lost 61-38 in their recent non-league bout against Burns (Lawndale, NC)

Next up, the Bulldogs clash with the Highland Tech Rams (Gastonia, NC) in a non-league bout, on Tuesday, January 30. Burns will attempt to upgrade on its 11-5 season record. The Rams enter the game with a 2-15 record after their 45-37 non-league loss to East Gaston (Mt. Holly, NC).
