Volcano Vista Hawks (Albuquerque, NM) backers were pleased Friday as they saw their basketball squad knock off the host Cibola Cougars (Albuquerque, NM), 44-35 in a non-league bout.

With the victory, Volcano Vista upgrades its record to 9-0 on the campaign. The Hawks host Rio Rancho (Rio Rancho, NM) to play the Rams in a non-league bout on Friday, February 2. The Rams come into the bout with a record of 14-2.

Next up, the Cougars play the Valley Vikings (Albuquerque, NM) in a non-league bout, on Saturday, January 27. Cibola will attempt to upgrade on its 10-3 season record. The Vikings come into the bout with a 10-4 record after their 56-42 non-league win over Albuquerque Academy (Albuquerque, NM).
