The Clifton Central Comets basketball team (Clifton, IL), was nudged 39-33 in Friday's non-league battle with the host Wilmington Wildcats (Wilmington, IL)

The Wildcats now possess a 4-0 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Coal City for a battle on Tuesday, January 30. Wilmington will confront a Coalers team coming off a 53-18 non-league win over Iroquois West (Gilman, IL). The Coalers record now stands at 7-2.

The Comets (10-7) will now prepare for their battle against Watseka (Watseka, IL). The Warriors come into the non-league battle with a 0-2 record.
