Hopewell Blue Devils (Hopewell, VA) backers were pleased Friday as they saw their basketball squad hold off the host Colonial Heights Colonials (Colonial Heights, VA), 50-46 in a non-league bout.

With the victory, Hopewell upgrades its record to 2-6 on the campaign. The Blue Devils host Meadowbrook (Richmond, VA) to play the Monarchs in a non-league bout on Tuesday, January 30. The Monarchs come into the bout with a record of 8-4. Meadowbrook won 57-49 in their recent non-league bout against Matoaca (Chesterfield, VA)

Next up, the Colonials play the Southampton Indians (Courtland, VA) in a non-league bout, on Monday, January 29. Colonial Heights will attempt to upgrade on its 7-5 season record. The Indians come into the bout with a 5-8 record after their 28-24 non-league loss to Greensville County (Emporia, VA).
