In Friday's league outing, the Fuquay - Varina Bengals (Fuquay-Varina, NC) basketball squad edged the visiting Corinth Holders Pirates (Wendell, NC), by a count of 37-35.

The Bengals (5-11) will now prepare for their outing against Cleveland (Clayton, NC). The Rams go into the outing with a 3-10 record.

The Pirates now hold a 4-10 record. They play next when they host Southeast Raleigh for a non-league outing on Tuesday, January 30.
