Fans at Friday's league challenge between the Hertford County Bears (Ahoskie, NC) and the visiting Holmes Aces (Edenton, NC), saw Hertford County's basketball squad knock off Holmes by a tally of 51-42.

With the victory, Hertford County improves its record to 7-5 on the campaign. The Bears travel to Northampton County (Gaston, NC) to play the Jaguars in a non-league challenge on Saturday, January 27. The Jaguars come into the challenge with a record of 0-13. Northampton County lost 36-28 in their recent league challenge against Northwest Halifax (Littleton, NC)

Next up, the Aces play the Northeastern Eagles (Elizabeth City, NC) in a non-league challenge, on Tuesday, January 30. Holmes will attempt to improve on its 8-4 season record. The Eagles come into the challenge with a 11-1 record after their 71-45 non-league win over Pasquotank County (Elizabeth City, NC).
