Manchester Lancers (Midlothian, VA) backers were pleased Friday as they saw their basketball squad hold off the host L.C. Bird Skyhawks (Chesterfield, VA), 47-46 in a non-league bout.

With the victory, Manchester upgrades its record to 13-1 on the campaign. The Lancers travel to Midlothian (Midlothian, VA) to play the Trojans in a non-league bout on Friday, February 2. The Trojans come into the bout with a record of 7-4.

Next up, the Skyhawks play the Monacan Chiefs (Richmond, VA) in a non-league bout, on Wednesday, January 31. L.C. Bird will attempt to upgrade on its 12-3 season record. The Chiefs come into the bout with a 3-6 record after their 56-19 non-league win over Powhatan (Powhatan, VA).
