The Middlesex Chargers (Saluda, VA) basketball felled the host Mathews Blue Devils (Mathews, VA), 27-18 in Friday's league test.

The Chargers (6-6) will now prepare for their test against Christchurch School (Christchurch, VA). The Seahorses go into the non-league test with a 0-7 record. In their last test, Christchurch School went down by Atlantic Shores Christian (Chesapeake, VA), 61-42, in a non-league test.

The Blue Devils now own a 1-11 record. They play next when they travel to Carver College and Career Academy for a non-league test on Tuesday, January 30. Mathews will encounter a Wolverines squad coming off a 36-25 non-league loss to West Point (West Point, VA). The Wolverines record now stands at 2-8.
