The Smithfield Packers basketball team scored 65 points and restricted the visiting Poquoson Islanders to 25 in the Packers non-league victory on Friday.

The Packers now sport a 13-2 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Tabb for a non-league contest on Wednesday, January 31. Smithfield will battle a Tigers team coming off a 54-45 non-league loss to Petersburg (Petersburg, VA). The Tigers record now stands at 7-7.

The Islanders (1-13) will now prepare for their contest against Nandua (Onley, VA). The Warriors come into the non-league contest with a 4-3 record. In their last contest, Nandua triumphed over Chincoteague (Chincoteague, VA), 54-50, in a non-league contest.
