The crowd at Sunday's league challenge between the Gonzaga Eagles (Washington, DC) and the visiting DeMatha Stags (Hyattsville, MD), observed Gonzaga's basketball team knock off DeMatha by a score of 74-62.

The Eagles (19-2) will now prepare for their challenge against Paul VI (Chantilly, VA). The Panthers come into the VISAA Division I challenge with a 15-3 record. In their last challenge, Paul VI prevailed over Bishop Ireton (Alexandria, VA), 68-49, in a league challenge.

In their next game, the Stags battle the Bishop McNamara Mustangs (Forestville, MD) in a Washington Catholic challenge, on Tuesday, January 28. DeMatha will attempt to improve on its 14-5 season record. The Mustangs come into the challenge with a 8-9 record after their 73-62 league win over Archbishop Carroll (Washington, DC).
