Classical Purples (Providence, RI) backers were in high spirits Thursday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the host St. Raphael Academy Saints (Pawtucket, RI), 41-26 in a league bout.

With the win, Classical upgrades its record to 3-8 on the season. The Purples host East Greenwich (East Greenwich, RI) to clash with the Avengers in a State Championship A bout on Wednesday, February 2. The Avengers go into the bout with a record of 4-10.

Next up, the Saints clash with the Ponaganset Chieftains (North Scituate, RI) in a non-league bout, on Monday, January 31. St. Raphael Academy will attempt to upgrade on its 1-9 season record. The Chieftains go into the bout with a 13-2 record after their 74-59 league win over Cranston West (Cranston, RI).
