Waldport Irish (Waldport, OR) backers were in high spirits Thursday as they witnessed their basketball squad tip the visiting Myrtle Point Bobcats (Myrtle Point, OR), 48-42 in a league bout.

With the win, Waldport upgrades its record to 6-5 on the season. The Irish travel to Gold Beach (Gold Beach, OR) to play the Panthers in a 2A Sunset bout on Friday, January 28. The Panthers go into the bout with a record of 6-8. Gold Beach won 41-27 in their recent league bout against Toledo (Toledo, OR)

Next up, the Bobcats play the Toledo Boomers (Toledo, OR) in a 2A Sunset bout, on Saturday, January 29. Myrtle Point will attempt to upgrade on its 10-6 season record. The Boomers go into the bout with a 1-10 record after their 41-27 league loss to Gold Beach (Gold Beach, OR).
