Bishop O'Dowd Dragons (Oakland, CA) backers were in high spirits Friday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the visiting Alameda Hornets (Alameda, CA), 62-53 in a league bout.

With the win, Bishop O'Dowd upgrades its record to 11-10 on the season. The Dragons travel to Fortune Early College (Sacramento, CA) to clash with the Panthers in a non-league bout on Saturday, January 28. The Panthers go into the bout with a record of 14-6. Fortune Early College won 89-67 in their recent league bout against John Adams Academy (Roseville, CA)

Next up, the Hornets clash with the St. Joseph Notre Dame Pilots (Alameda, CA) in a West Alameda County - Foothill bout, on Tuesday, January 31. Alameda will attempt to upgrade on its 17-4 season record. The Pilots go into the bout with a 5-14 record after their 67-43 league loss to Piedmont (Piedmont, CA).
