North Carolina High School Basketball - Ashe County succumbs to Alexander Central

The Alexander Central Cougars topped the host Ashe County Huskies basketball team by a final score of 56-42 in Friday's league game.

In their next game, the Cougars face the Watauga Pioneers (Boone, NC) in a 3A/4A Conference 52 game, on Tuesday, January 31. Alexander Central will attempt to move on its 13-6 season record. The Pioneers enter the game with a 10-10 record after their 76-63 non-league loss to Reagan (Pfafftown, NC).

With the defeat, Ashe County moves to 7-12 on the year. The Huskies travel to Hibriten (Lenoir, NC) to face the Panthers in a 3A/4A Conference 52 game on Tuesday, January 31. The Panthers enter the game with a record of 8-12. Hibriten lost 62-52 in their recent league game against Freedom (Morganton, NC)
