Alpine Bucks (Alpine, TX) backers were pleased Friday as they saw their basketball squad hold off the visiting Stanton Buffaloes (Stanton, TX), 58-56 in a league bout.

With the victory, Alpine upgrades its record to 14-10 on the campaign. The Bucks travel to Tornillo (Tornillo, TX) to play the Coyotes in a 3A Region I District 4 bout on Tuesday, January 31. The Coyotes come into the bout with a record of 25-1. Tornillo won 66-33 in their recent league bout against Kermit (Kermit, TX)

Next up, the Buffaloes play the Presidio Blue Devils (Presidio, TX) in a 3A Region I District 4 bout, on Tuesday, January 31. Stanton will attempt to upgrade on its 14-11 season record. The Blue Devils come into the bout with a 9-13 record after their 40-20 league win over Crane (Crane, TX).
