Ambridge Bridgers (Ambridge, PA) backers were pleased Friday as they saw their basketball squad knock off the visiting Hopewell Vikings (Aliquippa, PA), 65-56 in a league bout.

With the victory, Ambridge upgrades its record to 6-11 on the campaign. The Bridgers travel to Neshannock (New Castle, PA) to play the Lancers in a non-league bout on Saturday, February 4. The Lancers come into the bout with a record of 11-5.

Next up, the Vikings play the Sto-Rox Vikings (McKees Rocks, PA) in a non-league bout, on Saturday, January 28. Hopewell will attempt to upgrade on its 4-14 season record. The Vikings come into the bout with a 5-12 record after their 80-42 non-league loss to Our Lady of the Sacred Heart (Coraopolis, PA).
