Mississippi High School Basketball - Amite County overwhelmed by Loyd Star

The Loyd Star Hornets basketball team scored 75 points and restricted the visiting Amite County Trojans to 43 in the Hornets league victory on Friday.

The Hornets now sport a 12-8 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to East Marion for a 2A Region 7 contest on Tuesday, January 31. Loyd Star will battle a Eagles team coming off a 65-19 league win over West Lincoln (Brookhaven, MS). The Eagles record now stands at 14-4.

The Trojans (4-13) will now prepare for their contest against West Lincoln (Brookhaven, MS). The Bears come into the 2A Region 7 contest with a 2-18 record. In their last contest, West Lincoln was routed by Pisgah (Sandhill, MS), 46-35, in a non-league contest.
