The Arcola Purple Riders basketball team scored 57 points and held the host Villa Grove Blue Devils to 42 in the Purple Riders non-league triumph on Friday.

The Purple Riders now sport a 10-11 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Argenta-Oreana for a non-league contest on Saturday, January 28. Arcola will meet a Bombers team coming off a 82-74 non-league win over Arthur-Lovington/Atwood-Hammond (Arthur, IL). The Bombers record now stands at 12-11.

The Blue Devils (9-14) will now prepare for their contest against Tri-County [Kansas/Shiloh/Oakland] (Kansas, IL). The Titans enter the non-league contest with a 4-18 record. In their last contest, Tri-County [Kansas/Shiloh/Oakland] ran past Oblong/Hutsonville/Palestine (Oblong, IL), 54-46, in a non-league contest.
