The New Bedford Whalers basketball team scored 68 points and restricted the host Barnstable Red Hawks to 61 in the Whalers non-league victory on Friday.

The Whalers now sport a 8-3 record. They put it on the line next when they host Taunton for a non-league contest on Sunday, January 29. New Bedford will play a Tigers squad coming off a 70-51 league loss to King Philip Regional (Wrentham, MA). The Tigers record now stands at 8-4.

Next up, the Red Hawks play the Sandwich Blue Knights (East Sandwich, MA) in a Cape & Islands - Atlantic bout, on Tuesday, January 31. Barnstable will attempt to upgrade on its 5-8 season record. The Blue Knights go into the bout with a 1-11 record after their 48-44 league loss to Dennis-Yarmouth Regional (South Yarmouth, MA).
