Riverton Rams (Riverton, KS) backers were pleased Friday as they saw their basketball squad hold off the visiting Baxter Springs Lions (Baxter Springs, KS), 49-45 in a league bout.

With the victory, Riverton upgrades its record to 6-5 on the campaign. The Rams travel to Southeast (Cherokee, KS) to play the Lancers in a non-league bout on Monday, January 30. The Lancers come into the bout with a record of 9-2. Southeast won 56-41 in their recent non-league bout against Jayhawk Linn (Mound City, KS)

Next up, the Lions play the St. Mary's-Colgan Panthers (Pittsburg, KS) in a Crawford-Neosho-Cherokee bout, on Tuesday, January 31. Baxter Springs will attempt to upgrade on its 4-7 season record. The Panthers come into the bout with a 6-7 record after their 53-44 non-league loss to Girard (Girard, KS).
