In Friday's league outing, the Sigourney Savages (Sigourney, IA) basketball squad beat the visiting Belle Plaine Plainsmen (Belle Plaine, IA), by a count of 52-44.

The Savages (9-11) will now prepare for their outing against Tri-County (Thornburg, IA). The Trojans go into the South Iowa Cedar outing with a 2-15 record. In their last outing, Tri-County was topped by Keota (Keota, IA), 66-31, in a league outing.

The Plainsmen now hold a 11-8 record. They play next when they host Iowa Valley for a South Iowa Cedar outing on Tuesday, January 31. Belle Plaine will clash with a Tigers squad coming off a 60-24 league win over English Valleys (North English, IA). The Tigers record now stands at 9-10.
