Chartiers-Houston Buccaneers (Houston, PA) backers were in high spirits Friday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the host Bentworth Bearcats (Bentleyville, PA), 53-44 in a league bout.

With the win, Chartiers-Houston upgrades its record to 14-4 on the season. The Buccaneers host Frazier (Perryopolis, PA) to clash with the Commodores in a WPIAL 2A 4 bout on Tuesday, January 31. The Commodores go into the bout with a record of 2-16. Frazier lost 80-41 in their recent league bout against Fort Cherry (McDonald, PA)

Next up, the Bearcats clash with the Carmichaels Mighty Mikes (Carmichaels, PA) in a WPIAL 2A 4 bout, on Tuesday, January 31. Bentworth will attempt to upgrade on its 10-8 season record. The Mighty Mikes go into the bout with a 10-8 record after their 57-48 league win over Bethlehem Center (Fredericktown, PA).
